European Wasp nest

Here is a small "Honey Comb" nest likely to be found in the peak of your home or under a deck. Versus a Yellow Jacket's nest that is often inside of a small hole in the siding or a concrete basement area.

Bald Faced Hornet

Here is a large nest that Mike safely removed from Island Shadows Trailer Park. Bees are very beneficial however this nest was directly on the main road where people walk to the office, parking area and the dumpsters.

Products

Delta Dust

delta dust insecticide for bee nests

Delta Dust by Bayer is what we primarily use for treating a stinging insect nest. It contains Deltamethrin which is the same active ingredient as Suspend SC; its liquid formulation for Spiders / Ants. Delta Dust is the world's first and only 100% waterproof insecticide dust. It works in the wet and damp places that insects love. Nothing short of running water will disturb it, making Delta Dust an ideal crack and crevice treatment for your Wasp or Hornet nest.

One application of Delta Dust will keep on killing insects for up to eight months in the treated area.

Aerosal insecticide

P.T. P.I. insecticide for bee nests

Aerosol treatments in your Wasp / Hornet nest will ensure a quick kill of any flying insects in the nest. This reduces the chance of the homeowner / guests or a neighbor getting stung by the upset bees.

Prevention is the Best Medicine

In medicine, the saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” holds true saving you money and your life.

We feel the same way in the Pest Control industry. It is far easier to spray one, two or three times a year to deter an insect nest.

A typical Spider treatment with Suspend SC is a great deterrent for Wasp / Hornet nests but is certainly not an absolute prevention. Sealing all of the abnormal cracks and openings of your home, especially near the peak and foundation is very important. As well as keeping your gutters clear and dry, thus removing a source of their hydration.

Weekly walk arounds of your home: looking for any signs of bugs, bees, damaged or missing trim, moulding and siding is important.

Early detection will make it easier to eliminate the problem. Typical Yellow Jacket nests contain 1000 to 5000 wasps; so the nest may start as a few hundred but will escalate quickly and may require multiple treatments.
